VIDEO: Stolen Truck Recovered After Chase

VICKSBURG, Miss – A truck stolen from Gibson Road was recovered on Friday evening.
On Friday evening, just before 5 p.m., a Vicksburg Police Officer attempted a traffic stop on a white 2003 Chevy Silverado. The vehicle did not yield to the marked VPD unit with lights on and siren blaring. A pursuit ensued that went through parts of the city and county.
In the process of the pursuit the VPD officer ran the plates on the vehicle and discovered the truck had been reported stolen on February 17 from an address on Gibson Road. The chase at one point was on I-20, then Indiana Avenue into the county where Sheriff’s deputies assisted. The chase continued down Indiana and then onto Old 27.
Units lost sight of the vehicle but soon discovered it parked behind a mobile home at a location on Old 27. The driver had fled and was not found at that time.
“We have recovered the vehicle. Detective Dusty Keyes with the Sheriff’s Office is the lead investigator. He does have some promising leads but no arrest at been made at this time,” said Sheriff Martin Pace.
If you have information that may assist in the case, you can call the Sheriff’s Office directly at 601-636-1761, Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS(8477), or call 911.
