Warren Central coaching staff named Region 2-6A Staff of the Year
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Warren Central High School football coaching staff has been named the MHSAA Region 2-6A Coaching Staff of the Year, an honor announced shortly after the Vikings captured the Class 6A state championship.
Warren Central completed a dominant 2025 season with a 12-2 overall record, going undefeated against Class 6A opponents and sweeping district play. The Vikings’ success marked the program’s first state title in 31 years and its third consecutive region championship.
The program is led by head coach Josh Morgan, who just completed his 16th season at the helm. Morgan previously served as the team’s defensive coordinator and continues to call the defensive plays, guiding a unit that played a key role throughout the postseason run.
Morgan credited his assistant coaches for their dedication and impact across all levels of the program.
“Our coaching staff is absolutely amazing, and they’re invested in this, from the seventh grade and up,” Morgan said.
For several members of the staff, the 2025 season marked their first state championship at Warren Central, while others added to championship experience gained as players or coaches at previous programs. Each coach played a significant role in the Vikings’ historic season.
