Warren Central picks up a 18–0 shutout victory over Callaway
JACKSON, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central High School’s girls’ soccer team overpowered Callaway 18–0 on Monday night, delivering one of their strongest offensive outings of the season. The Lady Vikes surged to a 12–0 lead by halftime and added six more goals in the second half while spreading scoring opportunities across nine players.
Jordan Polk led the attack with four goals, scoring the opener and adding Goals 6, 11 and 12. She also assisted on Brooke Steed’s early strike. Avery Hern followed with a first-half hat trick, posting Goals 3, 4 and 5, with assists coming twice from Kennedy Smith and once from Polk.
Addi Mullen scored twice in the opening half, netting Goals 9 and 10, with the second assisted by Mary Clell Allred. Steed added two goals as well, scoring Goals 2 and 8, assisted by Polk and Mullen.
Allred tallied Goal 7, while Kylie Hearn scored the final goal of the night on Goal 18 and added an assist on Polk’s 11th. Laney Bull delivered the match’s opening assist and later scored Goal 17. She also assisted Olivia Lee’s second-half finish.
In the final half, Lee and Emily Godshaw each scored twice. Lee recorded Goals 13 and 16, with the latter assisted by Bull. Godshaw scored Goals 14 and 15, with her first assisted by Kalista Butler. Bull and Lee also connected on Goal 17, with Lee providing the setup.
Warren Central’s unselfish ball movement and depth powered the win, highlighted by 18 goals and 10 assists across the lineup.
