22-year-old Yazoo County man killed in a hit and run incident

The victim in a hit-and-run incident in Humphries County on Sunday has been identified.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the deceased was outside his vehicle assessing the damage from a previous crash. A white Ford F-250 struck him while he was standing near his vehicle on Highway 49 West near the Will Whittington Auxiliary Channel Bridge in Humphreys County.

The driver of the Ford left the scene and was last seen traveling north from the crash scene on Highway 49 West. The white Ford F-250 should have damage to the front hood or bumper.

22-year-old Sidney Burrough, of Yazoo County, has been identified as the deceased. Burrough was a student at the University of Southern Mississippi.
