At least four injured in multi-vehicle accident on 61 South

At least four people are injured in an accident involving at least three vehicles on 61 South.

Just before 8 p.m., a collision involving at least three vehicles has injured four people on 61 South. The accident is in the southbound lane just past the airport. One person was trapped in their vehicle. Four ambulances have been dispatched to the scene.

The first vehicle on scene, Ladder 15, reported one person trapped in the passenger side of a vehicle. One of the cars in the accident was some 150 yards beyond the others and a truck was in the ditch. Rescue was sent to the vehicle farthest away indicating that vehicle may have the entrapped person.

The Vicksburg Police are rerouting southbound traffic at this time.
