VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg Warren County Youth Development Center is offering a new opportunity to introduce students to the world of technology with the launch of the Coding Kit for Kids, a free traveling rental kit developed by Leadership Vicksburg’s Team Atomic Crushers.

Designed for students in grades 5 through 12, the kit fosters coding skills, creativity, and collaboration through engaging, hands-on projects. It also encourages communication and critical thinking while expanding awareness of STEM careers.

“This initiative aims to bridge the digital divide by giving Vicksburg’s youth and youth leaders access to tools that foster problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking,” said Dr. Susie Calbert executive director of the Youth Development Center. “Whether they’re just getting started or growing into future tech leaders, the Coding Kits offer a fun, hands-on way to build essential skills and inspire innovation right here in our community.”

The Coding Kit is ideal for use in classrooms, after-school programs, or community group settings.

To reserve the kit, contact Dr. Calbert at susiec@co.warren.ms.us.
