Betty Lou Reeves Bishop
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Betty Lou Reeves Bishop passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born on June 28, 1946, the daughter of J. R. McNease and Minnie Lee Evans McNease.
Betty retired from Gentiva Home Health after 30+ years of service. She was a member of Bovina Baptist church where she helped on the Caring Shirts Ministry making shirts for cancer patient. She also loved her Sunday School Class. She was always behind camera taking candid pictures. She also enjoyed fishing. Betty was big family person and greatly loved every single member of her family. Betty loved to garden. She was humbly intelligent and deeply insightful; anyone could come to her for advice. She always made sure to live her life in her own way; she always had a strong sense of self.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Billy Bishop and Rudy Reeves, brother Shelby Ray McNease and sister Frances Ann McNease Hampton.
She is survived by her son Oliver “Tucker” Brandon Reeves, daughter Sheila “Sandy” Sharmane Reeves, brother Enon E. McNease, sisters Joyce McNease Ferguson and Cathy Jo McNease Haley, grandchildren Melissa Reeves-Grant, John-Shelby Reeves, Amanda Hanes, Garrett Reeves and Rudy Reeves, great-grandchildren Natalie Cantin and Easton Montpelier, and brother-in-law Albo Haley.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Rev. Brian Parker and Bro. Randy Ratcliff. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery in Crowville, LA at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Philip Windham, Chris Veuleman, Michael Lee, John-Shelby Reeves, Sidney Hampton, and James Ford.
