Marion Thomas Palmer, age 55, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026. He was born in Vicksburg, MS on December 23, 1970.
Tommy loved Jesus with all of his heart, and his faith was at the center of his life. He loved his family deeply and had a special love for his children. He was a hardworking man who gave everything he had to the people he loved. He believed in working hard, providing for his family, and never giving up. His strong work ethic was one of the many things that made him the man he was. He was the kind of person who would literally give you the shirt off his back, even if he had nothing left for himself.
Tommy was funny, always had a good joke ready, and had a way of making people laugh, especially when they needed it most. He loved life, loved his family, and loved people. His kindness, humor, hard work, and generosity left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He made people feel welcome wherever he went. His presence brought joy to so many people, and his absence will be deeply felt by everyone who knew and loved him.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His greatest treasures were his children and grandchildren, whom he loved beyond measure. Tommy is survived by his two children, Brandon Palmer (Madison) and Taylor Palmer Brown (Corbyn); his two grandchildren, Beau Thomas Palmer and Gracelyn Belle Palmer; and his siblings, Doug Palmer, Mary Goodin (David), Jeffery Palmer, and David Palmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Austin Palmer and Jennie Lynne Palmer.
Tommy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, generosity, and faith. He never hesitated to help someone in need and gave so much of himself to others. The love he gave so freely will live on through his children, grandchildren, family, and all those whose lives he touched.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort knowing that he loved Jesus, and we trust that he is now resting in the presence of the Lord. His memory will forever be cherished, and he will be loved and missed more than words can express.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Glenwood Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Bishop Johnny Gibson. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Austin Palmer, Shelby Kurtz, Shane Bailey, Robert Kapp, Mark Little and Darren Keller. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Goodin, Christopher Goodin, Johnny Gibson, III and Kris Dorrell.
