She was the daughter of Johnny and Dorothy Pullens of Carriere, Miss. She was also the cherished wife of the late Dwain Carpenter of Vicksburg, who preceded her in death in 2022. She was a loving mother to her son, Dusty Carpenter of Vicksburg, and a caring stepmother to Sondra “Sandy” Holley and her husband Jordan of Rayville, La. and their children Alexia Holley, Jameson Holley, Landon Carpenter, Leighton Jordan Holley, and Lynlee Jayne Holley.

She is also survived by her sister, Delores “Lori” Pullens Millfelt and her husband Gilbert “Gilly” Robinson of New Orleans, La. and her nephews, Antonio Joseph “AJ” Ciaccio and his wife Brylee Marie Channon of Prague, Ok., and Liam Elijah Collins of Byram, Miss., as well as her mother-in-law, Jane Carpenter of Vicksburg. She was also blessed by the friendship and support of special family friends Tristan Mitchell of Lena, Miss.i, and Bradley Dwiggins of Vicksburg, both of whom held a meaningful place in her life.

She learned sign language, worked as a substitute teacher, where her patience and caring manner made a lasting impression on students and staff alike. She also supported her husband in all of his work endeavors. A creative soul, she found joy in art and especially in painting. She expressed herself through color, imagination, and beauty.
