Open AWS data center discussion set for Friday

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — There will be a gathering Friday of people who have concerns about the impending construction of a new Amazon Web Services data center in Vicksburg.

The meeting will be held at the Strand Theatre, located at 717 Clay Street, Vicksburg, MS 39183 from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Lily Pierson will open the meeting with a discussion about the environmental impact the data center could have on local climates.

“I’ll be talking about the environmental and health concerns linked to data centers, including both long-term pollution and issues that come up during construction,” said Pierson.

Following the introduction, there will be an open forum discussion among attendees. The meeting is open to the public. There is no cost to attend.
