The second-year program has made significant strides since its inaugural season. Eighth-grader Cullen Tankesly has set the tone as one of the team’s most consistent performers, posting a score of 220 at the state meet after months of dedication.

“I stay practicing because I have a target at home and if I’m not practicing at school then I make sure I get it done at home,” Tankesly said.

Archers compete by taking multiple shots at targets, with precision determining their final scores. PCA participated in four meets this season, including two at Hartfield Academy, one at Clinton Christian Academy and the state championship at Park Place Academy.

The team’s performance at state marked its highest overall score of the year, a reflection of steady improvement since practices began in January. Coaches Skylar Campisi and Jennifer Greer credited the team’s work ethic and commitment to consistent practice as key factors in their success.
