The Vicksburg Fire Department is recognizing the retirements of two longtime firefighters whose combined careers spanned more than five decades of service to Vicksburg and Warren County.

Assistant Chief Tim Love retired Friday after 32 years with the department. Love served as B-Shift battalion chief since 2010 and also led the department’s Dive Rescue Team. He officially ended his career when he clocked out for the final time at 7 a.m.

Captain Doug Holman also retired after serving with the department since 2004. During his career, Holman worked on the ambulance, the Rescue Truck and later Ladder 3, where he supervised operations at Station 3 on C-Shift.

In a statement, the Vicksburg Fire Department thanked both men for their years of dedication, sacrifice and service to the department and the citizens of Vicksburg and Warren County.

Department officials credited Love and Holman with making lasting contributions through their leadership and commitment to public safety and wished both retirees many years of good health and happiness in retirement.
