Vicksburg Police Department has announced it has concluded its investigation into a fatal crash that occurred Monday, June 29.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg Police Department said it has concluded an investigation into a fatal crash that occurred Monday, June 29.
In a press release Thursday, June 2, VPD said it concluded its investigation into the traffic crash involving a passenger vehicle and an electric bike that happened at the intersection of First North Street and Clay Street.
VPD stated the operator of the electric bike, Marlon Robinson, sustained serious injuries in the collision. He was transported to Merit Health River Region before being airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson, where he later died from his injuries.
Following a thorough investigation, VPD investigators determined that the crash was a tragic accident. No criminal charges are expected in connection with this incident.
VPD said the department extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Robinson during this difficult time.
“We also recognize the emotional impact this tragedy has had on everyone involved and ask the community to keep all those affected in their thoughts and prayers,” said the press release.
