A vehicle caught fire after a collision on I-20.

Just after 2 p.m., a motor vehicle collision on I-20 West near mile marker 16, just east of the Flowers exit, led to a vehicle catching fire.

No one was injured in the accident but smoke from the burning vehicle could be seen for miles. Westbound traffic was at a complete stop at one point due to the intensity of the blaze.

Warren County firefighters left a grass fire near Love’s Truck Stop to attend to the vehicle fire.

Several people including Jason Burnside and Perry Boyd stopped to assist at the vehicle fire prior to firefighters arriving on the scene.

Traffic was at a standstill at one point but it is flowing slowly through the area at this time.
