Comedy Duo to Perform at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church will host a special faith-based comedy session at 2 p.m. Sept. 28 as part of its 160th anniversary celebration. The event will feature comedians Monalisa Harris and Shaesoexxtra, who have built a reputation for blending humor with faith.
Harris, a Greenville native, is a disabled combat veteran who served in Iraq and spent 12 years with the Army National Guard. She has performed stand-up comedy for 15 years and is co-owner of HaHa Hooligans Entertainment LLC. Her hobbies include singing, music, working out and spending time with family and friends. Her motto is to keep God first and foremost in her life.
Shaesoexxtra is a two-time Hood Idol Comedian of the Year known for her bold stage presence and clean, faith-based comedy. She says her mission is to glorify God with every joke, reminding audiences that laughter is a gift from above.
The two comedians met by phone in 2022 after friends suggested they connect. Both grew up in the church and now perform together frequently at faith-based events, open mic nights and podcasts.
The Sept. 28 program at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 815 Mission 66 in Vicksburg, will also feature guest speaker Pastor Dr. Joe Mosley of Calvary Church and will be hosted by Pastor Tarik Scott.
