CARY, Miss. (VDN) — Demario Conner, a native of Cary and standout football player at South Delta High School, is continuing his athletic career at Mississippi Delta Community College.

Conner signed with the MDCC Trojans in the spring, shortly before graduating with the South Delta Class of 2024. He originally committed to the program in January and made it official with his signing in February.

As a senior, Demario anchored the Bulldogs’ defense, finishing the 2024 season with an impressive 103 total tackles. His performance caught the attention of several programs, but he ultimately chose to remain in-state and join MDCC.

Now enrolled at the college, Conner is participating in summer workouts with the Trojans as he competes for a starting linebacker spot ahead of the upcoming fall season. He will play under Head Coach Tavares Johnson Sr., who leads the Trojans’ football program.

Conner is expected to bring intensity and leadership to MDCC’s defensive unit.
