Dollar General on 61 South Robbed at Gunpoint

VICKSBURG, Miss – The Dollar General on 61 South was robbed at gunpoint Monday evening.

Just before 10 p.m., the Dollar General on 61 South was robbed by four young black males brandishing weapons. According to a victim of the robbery, they entered the store as the employees were closing it. When they saw the four men they walked away and down the aisle but one of them stopped them by pointing a Glock style pistol at them.

Another of the young men displayed an AR type rifle. They were described as lean with facemasks and gloves on. They ordered an employee to open the safe and then took the money in the safe. They then fled north on 61 in an as yet unknown vehicle type.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The Vicksburg Police had a heavy response to the area with four vehicles in front of the unit and several other circulating the area looking for suspects.
