Donald Trump and JD Vance Sworn In
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Donald John Trump and James David “JD” Vance took their oaths of office today and were sworn in to become president and vice president of the United States.
Trump, one of only two US Presidents to serve non-consecutive terms, is now the 47th President of the United States. In a ceremony that was held indoors due to inclement weather in the DC area, the President promised sweeping changes and declared, “The golden age of America starts right now. From this day forward our country will flourish.”
The President has pledged to sign almost 100 Executive Orders addressing issues he deems important to America. Among them are orders to declare an emergency at the southern border that may halt immigration and focus on deporting illegal immigrants to the country. Trump also declared a national energy emergency that will rescind the New Green Deal and the electrical vehicle mandate. Trump also promised to form what he called “An External Revenue Service” to place tariffs on goods imported to America from other countries.
Vance was sworn in just before the President, surrounded by his wife, Usha, and their three children. Vance is the former senator from Ohio who focused on the Southern Border and bringing manufacturing back to America.
