Dr. Robert Lamkin named principal of Vicksburg High School

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Dr. Robert Lamkin has been named the new principal of Vicksburg High School. His appointment was approved by the Vicksburg Warren School District Board of Trustees over the summer.

“I am honored to serve as the new principal of Vicksburg High School,” Lamkin said in a statement. “I bring 28 years of experience in education, including 16 years in administrative leadership roles. Throughout my career, l have consistently committed to creating environments that challenge, support, and prepare students for success beyond the classroom.”

“It is a privilege to join the proud tradition of excellence that defines Vicksburg High School and the broader Vicksburg Warren School District. My mantra is Reaching, Teaching, and Empowering Leaders for Tomorrow, and I have a passion for cultivating our youth into strong, productive students who will face a new world with new opportunities,” he added.

“Additionally, I believe in strong collaboration among students, families, staff, and the community. Together, we can ensure that every student has access to the tools, opportunities, and encouragement they need to thrive.”

Prior to joining Vicksburg High, Lamkin held multiple leadership roles in the McComb School District, including principal and assistant superintendent of curriculum.

He is also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
