Eagles pick up first win in 14-2 victory over Raymond
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Porter’s Chapel Academy picked up its first win of the season Thursday night with a 14-2, four-inning victory over Raymond High School, erupting for nine runs in the fourth inning.
Coltin Hancock got the Eagles started in the first inning with an RBI single to plate the game’s first run. Aden Alford followed with a two-run single to give PCA a 3-2 advantage.
In the second, Landon McCollough and Hunter Bates each delivered RBIs as the lead grew to 5-2.
The Eagles broke the game open in the fourth. Two bases-loaded walks forced in runs before Hancock added a two-run single. Alford and Braxton Alexander followed with RBIs. Wyatt Nicholson and Alexander later scored on errors, and McCollough drove in the final run of the night.
Corvin Finch, McCollough (one RBI) and Hancock (three RBIs) each collected two hits in the win. Alford (two RBIs) and Alexander (one RBI) added one hit apiece.
Hancock also earned the win on the mound, striking out six batters.
