The Vicksburg High School Gator Girls will celebrate 50 years of sisterhood, tradition and legacy on Friday, Oct. 30, with a special anniversary performance featuring former and current members of the dance team.
The celebration will mark the 50th anniversary of the Gator Girls, who have represented Vicksburg High School since 1976.
According to Gator Girls head coach Eddie Howard, the celebration will bring together generations of dancers who have helped build the program’s legacy over the past five decades.
One of the highlights of the evening will be a special halftime performance featuring the EverGreen Girls, a group of Gator Girls alumni who will return to the football field to celebrate the program’s history.
The celebration will also recognize the next generation of dancers as the Vicksburg Junior High School Gatorettes take the spotlight in recognition of High School Day.
The event will bring together three generations of dancers, from former members who helped establish the program’s traditions to the young ladies who are continuing its legacy today.
The anniversary celebration will take place at James E. Stirgus Sr. Football Stadium, with the football game scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
The special occasion will honor 50 years of Gator Girls history while celebrating the sisterhood and traditions that have connected generations of young women at Vicksburg High School.
