Gators stay hot with 13-0 shutout win over PCA

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN)Vicksburg High School won its third straight game Friday with a 13-0 victory over Porter’s Chapel Academy.

The Gators broke the game open with 10 runs in the third inning to secure the shutout win.

Nick Carson pitched a no-hitter for Vicksburg and struck out six batters. He also recorded a hit at the plate.

“I feel like can’t nobody hit the ball when I’m throwing at my best especially when I got a good defense behind me,” Carson said.

Kolten Thomas led the Gators offensively with two doubles and two RBIs.

“We had good defense and offense all week,” Thomas said. “We’re just going to keep doing what we’re doing and getting ready for next week.”

Allan Allen finished with a double, two hits and two RBIs. Fred Knight (two RBIs) and Jacobie Simpson each added a hit. Jacarey Burks collected two RBIs, and Abel Gonzalez drove in one run.

For Porter’s Chapel Academy, Coltin Hancock and Landon McCollough each struck out three batters, while Brayden Carr struck out two.
