Warren Central defeats South Pike in Friday tennis action

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Warren Central High School tennis team picked up a team win over South Pike on Friday at Halls Ferry.

In boys singles, Corbin Crews fell to Clete Magee 4-6, 3-6.

In girls singles, Makayla Bufkin dropped her match to Charlie Kate Garrett 1-6, 2-6.

Warren Central responded with strong performances in doubles play.

In Boys Doubles No. 1, Luke Bond and Duke Esparza defeated Jake Williams and Drew Dodd 6-1, 6-2.

In Boys Doubles No. 2, Sam Harris and Gray Lampkin earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Liam Boone and Jackson Wells.

In Girls Doubles No. 1, Sydney Sullivan and Ellie Tennison won a three-set match over Addison Boone and Caroline Lawson 6-4, 2-6, 10-9 (11-9).

In Girls Doubles No. 2, Lilli Feibelman and Avery Hern secured a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Mary Lindsey Leblanc and Mikayla Garrett.

Warren Central capped the day with a win in mixed doubles as Brady Taylor and Annie Tucker Hossley defeated Sophie Jackson and Bryee McInnis 6-0, 6-4.

Warren Central won five of the seven matches to secure the team victory.
