Missy Gators took down Provine in five sets

Vicksburg High School’s volleyball team rallied from a two-set deficit to defeat Provine in five sets. Kenley Henderson led the Missy Gators with 21 points, securing the win with a decisive 15-6 victory in the final set.

Vicksburg High School’s volleyball team overcame a two-set deficit to defeat Provine in five sets on the road Thursday night.

The Missy Gators dropped the opening two sets 25-21 and 25-15 before turning the match around. Vicksburg captured the third set 25-19 and dominated the fourth 25-8 to force a decisive fifth set.

VHS completed the comeback with a 15-6 victory in the fifth set.

Kenley Henderson led Vicksburg with 21 points, eight aces and nine digs. Zaria Jones finished with 17 points, one ace and 10 digs, while Zipporah Drake recorded 14 points, two aces and 10 digs.

Divine Tulloch contributed 13 points, one ace and 12 digs, while Nykeria Watson had 12 points and 12 digs. Madisyn Kimble finished with nine points and one ace, Harmony Harris had five points and six digs, Peyton White recorded three points and four digs, and Alaina Williams added two points and six digs. Layla Johnson finished with one dig.

Vicksburg’s junior varsity team also earned a road victory, sweeping Provine 25-15 and 25-12.

Williams led the JV squad with 11 points, two aces and four digs. Kimble recorded nine points, five aces and six digs, while Imani Kelly had nine points, two aces and nine digs.

White finished with five points, one ace and four digs, while Khaliyah Thompson recorded four points, two aces and three digs. Kamaya Wilson added four points and six digs.

Kitana Green scored two points, Alexandria Harris had two points and one dig, Jakia Truitt finished with two points and one dig, and Watson contributed two points, one ace and two digs.
