Adria Burrell wins a gold medal at her track meet over the weekend

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.(VDN) — Adria Burrell, a Vicksburg native and freshman at the University of West Alabama, captured a gold medal over the weekend at an indoor track meet.

Burrell ran a leg on the Tigers’ 4×400-meter relay team that finished first with a time of 3 minutes, 57.18 seconds. The relay team consisted of Kilaya Lucien, Adria Burrell, Hayley Cook-Graham and Jocelyn Randle.

Later in the meet, Burrell placed third in the 60-meter dash.

Burrell is a 2025 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a two-year state champion.
