Groovin’ night with a side of BBQ
Tommy’s BBQ hosts live event night at Vicksburg’s BB Club featuring music from Vickie Baker and The V Souls and The Groove Crew.

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Tommy’s BBQ hosted an evening full of food and music Saturday, May 30, at the BB Club in downtown Vicksburg.
The evening was called Late Night Git Right and featured live soul music from Vickie Baker and The V Souls with accompaniment from The Groove Crew.

“Vickie Baker is second to none! I had goosebumps! Amazing performance by the band! I am looking forward to Late Night Git Right Chapter 2,” said Tommy Hughes, the namesake of Tommy’s BBQ.

Food options included everything from a green salad and coleslaw to smoked turkey and bacon wrapped catfish. There were sides such as mac&cheese, baked beans, greens, Texas Twinkies (bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers) Tommy’s BBQ famous desserts finished off the meal with cookies, brownies, and red velvet cupcakes.

Tommy’s BBQ co-owner Eli Perez said hosting the event at the BB Club was special.
“It used to be home to the Vicksburg Police Department and we just love the space for hosting events,” said Perez.
The venue, located at 721 Clay Street, was built in 1916 as a high-profile event hall for the Jewish community in the region, the B’nai B’rith Literary Club, which became popularly known as the “BB Club”.

Jay Hall, General Manager of Tommy’s BBQ said serving the community is an important part of the restaurant’s culture.
“Like I tell anyone, serving this community is where we put our best foot forward,” said Hall.

Hughes reports the team at Tommy’s BBQ held four live events in the span of a week.
“Tommy’s BBQ team pulled off four live show events this week. That’s locked in! Eli and I are so proud of y’all! Well done!,” said Hughes.
Tommy’s BBQ can be enjoyed at their location at 1540 Hwy 61 in Vicksburg.
