‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ and free popcorn at the Strand April 19

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN)— Just in time for Easter, Margaret Richmond will present a special screening of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Strand Theatre on Saturday, April 19, starting at 7 p.m.

Jesus Christ Superstar, a rock opera film directed by Norman Jewison that reimagines the last days of Jesus Christ through the lens of 1970s counterculture. Based on the stage musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the film blends modern visuals with biblical themes and features a contemporary soundtrack highlighting the perspectives of Jesus, Judas, and Mary Magdalene.

Tickets are $10 at the door and $9 in advance at Highway 61 Coffeehouse, and always, popcorn is free.
