Cloudy, warm weekend expected with rain likely by Monday

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warm and mostly cloudy conditions will persist through the weekend for the Vicksburg and Warren County area, with increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms by late Sunday night and into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight will bring increasing cloud cover and a low around 67. South winds around 10 mph may gust up to 25 mph.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 86. South winds will continue near 10 mph, with gusts reaching 20 mph. Saturday night remains mostly cloudy with a low around 66 and continued southerly winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday’s forecast includes more cloud cover and a high near 85, with south winds holding steady around 10 mph. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives after 1 a.m. Sunday night, when the low will dip to around 68 under mostly cloudy skies.

Rain becomes more likely Monday, with a 70 percent chance of showers and possible thunderstorms. The high will be near 80, with south winds shifting to the west in the afternoon. A slight chance of storms lingers Monday night, with a low around 64 and calm winds after a brief period from the north.
