Hot Temps, Scattered Storms on Tap for Weekend

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Hot temps and humid conditions continue across Vicksburg this weekend, with heat index values soaring and scattered thunderstorms possible through Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 73 and calm wind.

Saturday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 92, with heat index values reaching up to 106. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected after 1 p.m., with a 30 percent chance of rain.

Saturday night holds a slight 10 percent chance of isolated storms before 7 p.m., then becomes partly cloudy with a low around 74.

Sunday will start mostly sunny, with a growing chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10 a.m. The hot temps will continue and the high will again approach 92. Winds will be light, becoming southwest near 5 mph. Rain chances increase to 50 percent.
