Triple-Digit Heat index continues for Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg enters another stretch of hot, mostly sunny days with only minimal chances of relief from scattered showers. Heat index values could soar into the triple digits, possibly as high as 107, on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight brings a 20 percent chance of isolated showers before 9 p.m., followed by partly cloudy skies and a low around 74. Winds will remain calm.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and dangerously hot, with a high near 94 and heat index values pushing toward 107. Winds will be light and calm throughout the day.

Thursday night stays partly cloudy with a low around 73.

Friday offers only a slight 20 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, otherwise remaining sunny with a high near 93. The night will be mostly clear with a low around 74.

Saturday continues the pattern: sunny and hot, with a high near 93 and calm wind. So far, it is unclear if the triple-digit heat index trend continues into the weekend.
