Hot, Humid weather with afternoon storm chances into the weekend

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The weather leading into the weekend in Vicksburg will be hot and humid, with afternoon storm chances continuing through the weekend as temperatures climb into the mid-90s, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight, there’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8 and 10 p.m. Otherwise, expect partly cloudy skies and a low around 75, with a light south wind.

On Wednesday, there’s a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. the hot, humid weather persists where highs will reach near 91, but it may feel as hot as 103 with the heat index. Winds will be light from the west-southwest.

Thursday night holds a 20 percent chance of early showers before skies clear. The low will be around 74 with calm wind.

Friday brings a 30 percent chance of showers and storms after 10 a.m., with highs near 92. Conditions are expected to dry out heading into the weekend. Saturday will be sunny and hot, with a high near 94 and calm southwest winds. Overnight lows will remain in the mid-70s.
