Sunny and hot this weekend, with rain chances returning early next week

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg will see sunny skies and hot temperatures through the weekend before scattered showers and thunderstorms return early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 73 degrees and light east winds becoming calm. Saturday will be sunny with a high near 94 and heat index values up to 102. Winds will remain light, shifting from calm to east around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy with a low near 73. On Sunday, there is a 30% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, otherwise mostly sunny with a high near 93. Winds will again be light and from the east.

Sunday night brings a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of showers until about 1 a.m., with lows around 74.

Rain chances increase Monday, with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs will remain near 93 under mostly sunny skies.
