VICKSBURG, MS – In a joint operation made by the Vicksburg Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, multiple arrests were made last Thursday in what Warren County Sheriff, Martin Pace said was a success in its efforts to focus on outstanding warrants, narcotics and other wanted individuals, adding that Thursday’s joint operation would not be the last of its kind.

Warren County Deputies logged felony arrests on Thursday that included 32-year-old Steven Eugene Sanders, of Warren County; 27-year-old Nicholas Sanders, of Claiborne County; and 24-year-old Latrell Ward, of Vicksburg.

Steven Sanders was arrested in the 7000 block of Freetown Road, at a residence where Pace said deputies had information he had been staying, for a probation violation relating to drug court.

Nicholas Sanders was taken into custody in the 100 block of Kings Row. Pace said Nicholas Sanders was wanted in Claiborne County for aggravated assault.

Latrell Ward was arrested on four counts of possession of a controlled substance after his vehicle was stopped for a driver’s license check at the intersection of Porters Chapel and Halls Ferry roads. Pace said deputies took Ward into custody after noticing the “pungent” smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a felony amount of marijuana, as well as of methamphetamines, cocaine and fentanyl.
