Joyce Clingan Named Grand Marshal for 2024 Parade of Lights

VICKSBURG Miss. – Joyce Clingan has been named the Grand Marshal for this year’s Parade of Lights to be held in downtown Vicksburg on December 8. The theme for this year is ‘The Nutcracker’.

Joyce Clingan is the longtime owner of Walnut Hills Restaurant. She is also a member of the Heritage Club and was honored in 2022 by the Vicksburg Main Street Association as a “Main Street Hero.”

Walnut Hills has been a staple of the Vicksburg community for many years. Respecting tradition, down to the most minute detail, is what keeps the lunches and dinners popular at this Southern mecca. Joyce Clingan, owner, understands this.

Miss Herdcine, who passed away earlier this year, was the chief cook at Walnut Hills for over 30 years and was the second generation of family members who played a key role in the success of this popular dining spot.
