Knight Breaks the VHS All-Time Rushing Yards Record

Vicksburg, Ms –DeCorey Knight Jr. broke the Vicksburg High School rushing yards record yesterday on a senior night. Knight broke the record against Columbus where he now has 2,960 rushing yards which surpasses Sylvester Stamps’ 2,946 rushing yards tgat was set in 1977-1979.

“It’s been a lot of work and sacrifices made but I’m happy I to get to display my talents every Friday night,” Knight said.

Last night, DeCorey rushed for 154 yards and he also had four receptions with 109 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Knight has been dominating on the varsity level since his sophomore year at VHS. In 2022, he racked up 1,011 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. As a junior, he had 818 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, 25 receptions, 395 receiving yards, and 3 receiving touchdowns. 

As of now, Knight has scholarship offers to Co-Lin, Itawamba, East Central CC, and Southwest Mississippi CC.
