Measurement rules: MCM unveils summer exhibit

JACKSON, Miss. (VDN) — The Mississippi Children’s Museum (MCM) will open its summer exhibit, Measurement Rules, on Friday, May 24. The interactive, hands-on exhibit invites children and families to explore the concepts of length, time, volume, and weight through engaging activities and displays.
Running through Sept. 7, the exhibit encourages visitors to better understand how measurement influences daily life. Children can weigh themselves on a “chicken scale,” measure their height against sea creatures, and experiment with volume using interactive digital tools.
Other features include a timing activity using “Mississippis” to understand duration, and Math Mountain — a 45-foot slide that combines distance, time, and play. The slide attraction will close on July 12.
Admission to the exhibit is included with the museum’s $13 general admission or free with an MCM membership. Measurement Rules is a traveling exhibit created by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.
