Evans, Wheeler arrested on separate charges

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Two men, David Evans and Darrius Latrell Wheeler, wanted in separate cases were arrested and arraigned this week by the Vicksburg Police Department.

David Evans, 38, was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 20, and charged with aggravated domestic assault. Authorities also confirmed that he is wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections and law enforcement officials in Texas.

Vicksburg Municipal Court Judge Angela Carpenter set Evans’ bond at $275,000.

Darrius Latrell Wheeler, 21, was arrested the day before, on Monday, May 19, on a charge of armed robbery. At the time of his arrest, Wheeler was out on bond for a previous armed robbery charge.

Judge Carpenter set Wheeler’s bond at $50,000.
