The event is set for Friday, Oct. 16, beginning at 11 a.m., at the airport located at 179 VTR Airport Rd., Mound, La. (Exit 182 off I-20). A small reception will follow in the airport’s main terminal.

This ceremony carries special meaning to honor the legacy of Dan Fordice, founder of the Southern Heritage Air Foundation, whose vision transformed a local airport into a nationally recognized destination for warbird pilots and aviation enthusiasts.

Pilots from 17 states—including Hawaii— are returning for the SHAF/NATA Warbird Formation Training Clinic and the unveiling of the new Dan Fordice Memorial Airfield sign, bringing more than 30 historic warbirds, including an F4U Corsair and three P-51 Mustangs, to the local region.

Join the friends and family of Dan Fordice and the Southern Heritage Air Foundation to celebrate a lasting legacy of aviation, community pride, and a vision that continues to take flight.
