MEMA Reminds Citizens To Self-Report Storm Damage
In a recent announcement, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) clarified that its post-storm self-report tool is not a replacement for 911. Those facing immediate, life-threatening danger should call 911 directly.
The self-report tool is used for data collection to assess storm damage but is not an application for financial aid.

MEMA uses this information to understand disaster impacts and better coordinate responses. Residents can use this tool for non-emergency reports but should call 911 in urgent situations.
