Press Release:
Picayune, Miss.-Our Special Operations Division has been working some long hours lately, and it paid off with the end result of Guns, Drugs, and Alligators in Picayune.
Over the previous weeks detectives of the Special Operations Division began receiving information that Mr. Ryan Howard who resides on Glenwood St. was involved in some illegal activity. During the course of the investigation by SOD we were contacted by our friends at St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office who had just arrested Howard and provided the last piece of the puzzle to execute a search warrant at his residence.
Once detectives searched the residence they located 51 lbs of Marijuana, Packaging material for bulk sales, anabolic steroids, 6 ounces of mushrooms, 13 vials of marijuana seeds for further production 14 firearms, and 8 Alligators in the backyard pool. During the course of dealing with St.Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, he along with his minor child were found transporting 80 lbs of Marijuana which was most likely destined to our city.
This is an active investigation and we have no doubt more charges will be pending for Mr. Howard and others. The Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks responded and will be taking custody of the alligators.
To those who haven’t gotten the memo about dealing drugs in Picayune, we are going to repeat it. “We will work with anyone to put you in jail and make our city safer. We will not rest to make sure our city and even the alligators are safe. We want to thank St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office for their assistance and we appreciate all of the hard work done by our officers.”
Mr. Howard now faces charges for Trafficking a Controlled Substance.
