‘Monologues’ returns to the Strand Theatre this weekend only

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Three local women will take the stage at the Strand Theatre to present The Vagina Monologues, an Obie Award-winning production known for its bold exploration of women’s experiences.

The performance will run through Sunday, with performances at 7:30 p.m. tonight, and a Sunday matinee beginning at 4 p.m. The award-winning performance offers audiences a collection of diverse voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a workshop participant, a woman witnessing her granddaughter’s birth, a Bosnian survivor of rape and a feminist celebrating a partner who “liked to look at it.”

“Ok former, current, and future actors in our group, it’s time to come out and support your fellow actors by attending a performance of the Vagina Monologues at the Strand Theatre this Friday or Saturday at 7:30 or Sunday at 4 p.m.,” said the Westside Theatre Foundation. “We’re looking forward to entertaining you.”

Tickets are $10 in advance at Highway 61 Coffeehouse or online at vagina.brownpapertickets.com. Tickets will also be available at the door for $15.
