St. Aloysius defeated VHS 9-1 on Tuesday
St. Aloysius finished Tuesday night with a 9-1 victory in a summer softball game over Vicksburg High School.
The Lady Flashes got on the board first after a walk while the bases were loaded. Kennadi Blassingame stepped up next and hit a double that brought in two runs by Presley Carr and Kyleigh Cooper.
As VHS went up to bat, Shandrea Lockridge hit a nice single just before Harmony Harris doubled to bring in the Missy Gators’ first run as the score sat at 3-1.
In the second inning, St. Al’s rising sophomore Megan Theriot hit her first varsity home run that added three runs to the score. Vicksburg’s Kennedy Williams hit a double in the second but the score would remain 6-1.
Later on in the win, Cooper hit a single just before Blassingame hit another double that added two more runs. Presley Brister walked as well which put the score at 9-1. Theriot also hit a double before the end of the game as St. Al earned the win.
Theriot and Blassingame both had two hits with three RBIs while Cooper had one hit. Williams and Harris(1 RBI) both had a hit for VHS.
JV:
St. Aloysius won the junior varsity game 9-1 as well where Madelyn Kavanaugh, Addie G. Clay and Theriot each had a hit and an RBI. Camden McGloster had three strikeouts for VHS and Kavanaugh struck out five for the Lady Flashes.
