St. Aloysius erupts late, run-rules Prairie View Academy 14-4

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — St. Aloysius baseball team scored 12 runs over the fifth and sixth innings to pull away for a 14-4 run-rule victory over Prairie View Academy on Monday night.

Prairie View Academy got on the board first in the third inning after a bad throw led to a run scoring on errors. The Flashes answered in the bottom of the inning when Keller Bradley hit a home run over the fence to cut the deficit to 2-1.

St. Aloysius tied the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning when Robert Lee delivered an RBI.

The Flashes took control in the fifth inning, erupting for seven runs. Pierson Smith sparked the rally with a two-run triple. Before the inning ended, William Roberson, Emerson Blackburn, Lee and Bradley each added RBIs to extend the lead to 9-2.

Prairie View Academy added two runs in the sixth inning, but St. Aloysius responded with five more. Smith and Andrew Nasif both scored on errors, and Lee added another RBI. Bradley was intentionally walked, and multiple other players drew walks to help end the game via run rule.

Bradley also delivered a strong performance on the mound, striking out 10 batters while allowing just one hit. Max Hargrave recorded two strikeouts in relief.

Sadler Lambiotte and Bradley (2 RBIs) each finished with two hits. Lee (3 RBIs), Smith (2 RBIs) and Blackburn (1 RBI) had one hit apiece. Cohen Coomes added one RBI.

St. Aloysius will host Copiah Academy on Tuesday.
