VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Thomas Wayne Gillis Lott, 43, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, surrounded by his beloved wife of 14 years, his daughter, and his mother. Thomas was born on June 11, 1982, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, and loyal friend.

Thomas graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 2000. In 2004, during a wedding celebration, he met the love of his life, and they have been together ever since. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mississippi College and worked for the past 16 years at Ergon Refinery as a procurement specialist. Thomas was a faithful member of Saint Michael Catholic Church.

Thomas’s greatest joy in life was his family, especially his wife, Catherine, and his daughter, Ana. He loved taking on projects, and his craftsmanship can be seen throughout his home. His passions included working on anything with an engine, woodworking, riding through the woods with Ana, college football, smoking meat, science fiction (especially Star Wars) and spending meaningful family time with Catherine and Ana.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Thomas Lott Sr.; his father, Cecil Lott; his maternal grandmother, Madge Evans Gillis; his maternal grandfather, James Chapman Gillis; and his brother, Brian Lott.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine Lott; his daughter, Ana Lott; and his soon-to-be-born son, James Chapman Lott. He is also survived by his mother, Tamela McRaney (Craig); his sister, Amy Lott; his in-laws, Michael and Charla; his brother-in-law, Chris Withrow (Sara); his sister-in-law, Brooke Lott; his aunt Pamela Garner (Kevin); nephews Kade Lott and John Michael Withrow; nieces Briley Lott, Kinley Lott, Anzley Lott, Emma Kate Withrow, and Amelia Lott; and numerous cousins.

A service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Garden Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Keyes, Kade Lott, Charlie Belden, Chris Withrow, Mike Withrow, and Craig McRaney. The honorary pallbearer is the late Brian Lott.
