Marcus Kentrell Sharp 1992-2025
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Marcus Kentrell Sharp, born on January 14, 1992, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, departed this earth on December 17, 2025. Marcus was an individual renowned for his vibrant spirit and creativity, embodying warmth and kindness in every interaction he had. He was not just a husband, stepfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend; he was a remarkable presence whose joy resonated deeply within the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A proud graduate of Vicksburg High School, Marcus laid a solid foundation for his future during his years in the Vicksburg Warren School District. He initially embarked on a career with Kroger and Ameristar, but in 2015, inspired by his adventurous spirit, he pursued a fulfilling career as a truck driver. This choice brought him immense joy, allowing him to explore the open roads while meeting people from all walks of life. His warmth was palpable; he could strike up a conversation with anyone, truly never meeting a stranger.
Beyond his professional life, Marcus was an artist at heart, harboring a passion for drawing that expressed his innermost thoughts and emotions on paper. His love for music echoed through the halls of his home, a soundtrack of joy and reflection that created cherished memories with his loved ones.
In addition to his rich tapestry of talents and passions, Marcus leaves behind a loving family: his beloved wife, Laura Sharp, and his stepchildren, Felton Moore Jr., Fabian Moore, and Lauren Brown. He is also survived by his father, Micheal (Melinda) Sharp; stepfather, Elvis Warner; brother, Joshua Sharp; sisters, Tiffany Luster, Shantae Butler, Jessica Sharp, and Nicole Jones ; niece, Armani Robinson; and nephew, Corderius Robinson Jr. The warmth of his grandmother, Gloria Dean Hurston, and grandfather, C.W. (Catherine) Tucker, was a source of comfort and strength for him. He shared bonds with numerous uncles, including Micheal Luster, Charles (Monica) Tucker, Patrick (Brenda) Tucker, and Jerald Tucker, as well as aunts Jacqueline (John L) Barber, Norma (Eddie) Givens, Percy Wright, Debra Wright Jones, Rosie Wright-Rowster Jackson, Yevette Smith , Rubye (James 3) Palmer, and Linda Hurston.
