According to the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department, three juveniles have escaped Henley Young Patton Youth Detention Center and escaped in a stolen vehicle that authorities believe has a gun in it.
Robert Smith, 16; Tayshon Holmes, 17; and Jashon Jones, 15 escaped from the detention center following a large disturbance, according to Sheriff Tyree Jones. They allegedly stole a blue 2007 Jeep Liberty with Mississippi tag #CFB 0901 from the parking lot.
Three additional youth detainees were transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during the disturbance and prior to the escapes. Their injuries are non-life threatening.
A gun is believed to be in the vehicle the escapees allegedly stole. Authorities say the Hinds County Administrator’s office is the contact for information on the case, while HCSO is conducting the investigation.
Please call 911 or your local law enforcement if you see any of these juveniles.
