Two dead in Fisher Ferry accident
Warren County, Miss. (VDN) — Sources with Warren County have confirmed that two people are dead in a fatal, two-car collision on Fisher Ferry near its intersection with Hometown Road.
At about 8:45 p.m., calls came into the Vicksburg/Warren 911 Call Center of an accident in the turn on Fisher Ferry near its intersection with Hometown. The first unit on scene described a seriously injured person, and Air Care was requested. Shortly thereafter, Air Care was cancelled, and radio traffic on the accident subsided. At 9:37 p.m., radio traffic indicated the coroner had been dispatched to the accident scene.
Vicksburg Daily News was informed that two people were dead in the accident on Fisher Ferry. Additionally, unconfirmed information indicates one of the deceased is a minor, and the driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital by law enforcement.
Numerous vehicles with the Warren County Fire Service, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, including Sheriff Martin Pace, and the Mississippi Highway Patrol are at the accident scene.
Deputies are working to reopen one lane of Fisher Ferry as investigators work the scene. Please use caution if you are in the area.
