Two Men from Vicksburg Arrested in Florence

Florence, MS – A Florence PD traffic stop for improper equipment led to the arrest of two men from Vicksburg.

On October 31, 2024, Florence Police conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 49 South for Improper Equipment. During the stop and subsequent search, an individual was found to be in possession of a Controlled Substance, possession of paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license (DWLS: Implied Consent).

A passenger in the vehicle was also found to be in possession of a Controlled Substance while being in possession of a firearm, and possession of paraphernalia.

Arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Paraphernalia, and DWLS (Implied Consent) is Curtis Blackwood. Blackwood is from Vicksburg but lists a Bay St. Louis address. Arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute while being in Possession of a Firearm and Possession Paraphernalia is Keonta Lawrence. Lawrence is from Vicksburg and lists a Biloxi address.

The two men were booked and transported to the Rankin County Detention Center.
