Two people shot in Vicksburg on Sunday morning

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Two people were shot in Vicksburg on Sunday morning. The Vicksburg Police Department issued a press release on the situation on Sunday afternoon.

The Vicksburg Police Department is currently investigating two shootings which happened on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., Officers responded to a wreck in the area of Fisher Ferry road near Drusilla Lane. Upon arrival officers found evidence of a shooting. A black male victim was transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he is currently being treated for his injuries. The male’s condition is unknown at this time.

At approximately 3:38 a.m, Officers responded to Merit Health River Region for a black male, who had arrived at the hospital by a personal vehicle, with an apparent gunshot injury. The male’s condition was stable at this time.
