“I am honored to be selected.” Local United Way’s Alyssa Lick Selected for Prestigious Leadership Program
VICKSBURG, Miss. – The United Way of West Central Mississippi‘s Director of Marketing and Resource Development, Alyssa Lick, has been accepted into United Way’s Next-Generation Leaders Initiative. Of the hundreds of applications, only about 35 are selected for each cohort.
“I am honored to be selected as a member of the Next Generation Leadership Initiative at United Way Worldwide. This opportunity not only fuels my passion for personal growth as a leader, but also equips me with tools to address critical needs in our community. I am excited to collab[orate] with other leaders in the network to create meaningful change and impact in our community,” said Lick.
Next-Generation Leaders Initiative is a partnership with Institute for the Future, an independent, public-interest nonprofit.
“This program is for early career leaders who are committed to United Way and the future of civil society. It aims to prepare leaders to address macro-level trends and issues in their states, nations, and the world at large, in addition to the micro-level needs and goals of their individual communities,” said Angela Williams, President and CEO of United Way World Wide, in an interview with Forbes Magazine.
Upon successful completion of the two-year program, participants will be able demonstrate skills in five key development Areas: Network Leadership, Community Leadership, Collaboration and Communication, Systems Leadership, and Learning and Self-Leadership.
